Frieda Jones gave the Treasurer’s Report that will become a part of the permanent minutes.

Pat Ball gave us details on the cost of the Car Show. With price increases and a loss of some former sponsors, the profit was not what we had gained in the past. Pat made a recommendation that we transfer money from the Charity Account to the Operation Account for expenses. Curtis Mink made the recommendation in the form of a motion and Richard Ball seconded the motion. The vote of the membership was unanimous. Much discussion followed on ways to make the show better, cut expenses and possibly even moving the show.

The July 4th Parade in Bristol was very good. We had 7 cars participate.

We had 7 cars at the VOTS car show on July 10. Curtis Mink won second place in the C4 class.

There will be a cruise to Grandfather Mountain on Saturday, July 17. We will meet at the Roadrunner Gas Station on Highway 19E and plan to leave at 9:00 am. We will have breakfast at Shirley’s and go on to Grandfather Mountain and Mast General Store.

Wings and Wheels will be at Abingdon Airport on July 24 beginning at 10:00 am.

The First Annual All Corvette Show, Swap Meet & Car Corral will be at Walter State Expo Center October 15-17.

By the August meeting we will have a date and location for the club picnic.

Jim Embree opened our meeting in prayer with a special prayer for Richard Ball’s brother, Larry.

We welcomed visitor, Kendra Bare.

In the absence of Frieda Jones, Judy Kyte gave the Treasurer’s Report that will become a part of the permanent minutes.

Eddie Connor reported on the Bowling Green trip.  All had a great time.  Sorry the weather kept the cars at home but it didn’t stop the fun.

Jim Embree gave a report on the Car Show/Blood Drive.  There are several boxes of things for the goodie bags at his office.  Victor Hardy will again donate a pocket watch to be raffled off at the show.  We will meet at Victor’s store to stuff the bags and load the truck.  Those who can will go down on Friday evening, June 4 to move cars at Champion.  That will assure us the space we need for our show. Clubs will park together this year. Curtis Mink will again be our emcee for the show.  The awards given will be for the top 10 cars, with TCCC members cars not included.  We will have a People’s Choice award.  We will have certificates for several different categories such as distance driven, most miles, least miles, etc.  Bring bottles of water for give away.   We all need to work on door prizes.  Think of those who have been a part in the past and make contact.

Richard Ball will check with AppleBee’s for a date for a fundraising breakfast.

The Super Chevy show will be at Bristol Dragway Sept. 24 & 25.

Also, Somerset, KY has an all Corvette show Sept. 25.

Relay For Life will be June 12, 13.

The TCCC Club Room should be ready to begin remodeling in the next few weeks.

Jim Embree had an update on the June 5 Car Show.  He talked with Cletis Green at Champion and was assured that we will have plenty of space at the front this year.  They will do advertising, give $500 for prize money and furnish our lunch.  Marsh will set up for our blood drive and we will also benefit from their advertising.  Pat Ball had samples of this year’s flyer and we selected the one we liked best.  This year our entry fee will be $20 and we will have a top 10 People’s Choice Award.  We voted for our shirts to be blue.  Club members’ cars will be on display only.

Meeting Minutes

This was our annual Breakfast Meeting.  Eddie Connor opened the meeting.  Jim Embree led in prayer.

In the absence of Frieda Jones, Judy Kyte gave the Treasurer’s Report.

Discussion followed on our proposed events schedule for 2010.  There was a lot of good discussion on several events including our picnic and our car show.  After lengthy discussion on ways to improve our show, Gary Malcolm made a motion to approach Champion Chevrolet one more time for our car show with the stipulation that we have to have more space.  There was a second to the motion by Eddie Connor.  The vote was unanimous.  We will check with them and see which date is better…June 5 or 12.  We will need to get busy on sponsors, door prizes and our fliers.
